 Tips for Pricing Doors:

So you have decided its time for new doors. Wise move! Doors are the portal to
your home and the creators of privacy inside the home. Here are some tips in
helping you with getting started.

Research, research, research. On the right sidebar of our home page we have
logos for some industry leaders like Jeld-Wen, Marvin, ThermaTru, and TruStile.
These are direct links to their websites. Click them for lots of great info from the
manufacturers themselves. You should familiarize yourself with the style of your
home as the doors are a major design element. And you should have a basic
idea of what you want. Are you looking for interior doors machined to match the
existing jambs or would you like the entire door and jambset changed? How about
the mouldings, now is a great time to update those as well. The more you know
about what you want before you come into the showroom, the faster we can
produce a quote for you.

Bring measurements. When you go shopping for doors you should have the
measurements of the doors you would like to replace. You should also know the
handing of the doors. We offer a measure service which produces this
information for you.

Take Pictures. Digital cameras make it easy to bring pictures with you. Snap a few
of the exterior of your home and the doors you would like to replace. That helps the
salesperson advise you on styles and options.

Have a plan. Are you doing your doors in conjunction with other home improvement
projects?  Scheduling and preparation are key to a smooth install which will minimize
your discomfort during the install process. Remember that lead times vary, most of our
manufactures build to order or must ship their products, lead times vary from two weeks
to eight weeks, so plan accordingly.

Find a reputable contractor. It is in your best interest to discuss your options with
numerous sources. This not only gives you piece of mind, but will also educate you on
the process.  You should interview at least three candidates to install your windows and
check them out thoroughly. Price should not be your determining factor. Go with the
company that gives you the best overall impression or the one that just seems to offer the
best service.  You are making a considerable investment in your home, which is a largest
investment holding for most families. Make sure you choose an installation company that
not only has a solid reputation and expertise to do the job but also one that you know will
be around for the long haul as future service is always something to keep in mind. You can
